Confined Space Cleaners - High-Pressure Water Blasting | Garden Island (Sydney, NSW)

We are looking for Confined Space Labourers with expertise in high-pressure water blasting for an ongoing opportunity to join a critical team on Garden Island, Australia's premier Naval base.

This is a unique chance to work across a variety of naval vessels, ensuring the meticulous cleaning and maintenance of essential internal compartments. Candidates will be required to get into the Tanks for cleaning and maintenance of internal surfaces. This will include Fuel tanks, water tanks, ballast tanks, grey water, black water and compartments.

You'll conduct your work in confined spaces, utilising portable lighting, high-pressure water blasting equipment, and industrial vacuum systems (wet and dry).

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely entering and working within various confined spaces on naval vessels.

• Operating high-pressure water blasting equipment for thorough cleaning of internal surfaces.

• Utilising industrial vacuum tankers/trucks (wet and dry systems) for efficient waste removal.

• Maintaining strict adherence to all confined space entry procedures and safety protocols.

• Ensuring meticulous cleanliness and compliance with naval standards.

Shift Details:

• Days or Nights: Shifts will generally be 12 hours. Specific rosters will be discussed.

Requirements:

• DCAC (Defence Common Access Card) Pass (ideal)

• Rapid Global Inductions (ideal)

• Thales Inductions (ideal)

• White Card

• Confined Space Entry Ticket

• High Pressure Cleaning Experience / Certification

Highly Desirable:

• Working at Heights ticket

• Confined Space Rescue certification

• First Aid Certificate

• Experience working under permit systems or Permit User qualification

• Rigger/Dogman ticket

• HR/HC truck license

• Computer literacy (Word and Excel)

• Vacuum truck/tanker experience

• Experience handling HPW (High Pressure Water) units

• Basic firefighting training/knowledge

• Use of MSA Gas monitors

• Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus vaccinations
